ECM Series with Microsoft 365
What is ECM?
ECM stands for Enterprise Content Management. It is the discipline —and the set of tools— an organization uses to capture, organize, store, protect and retrieve all of its documentation throughout its lifecycle: from the moment a document comes in until it is archived or deleted.
A good ECM answers three questions: where each document lives, who can see it, and how long it must be kept. It lets you leave behind network folders, desktops full of files and isolated scanning systems, and move to a single, orderly, secure and auditable platform.
In this series we build, step by step, a complete enterprise document management system on Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, SharePoint Embedded and Azure, using a financial institution —one of the most demanding scenarios— as the common thread, with an architecture that applies to any organization.
